Our Team


Co-Founder & CEO

Dr. Dave Edlund Ph.D.

Responsible for technical development, manufacturing, and strategic business development at e1. Dr. Edlund is a veteran of the fuel cell industry with over 30 years of experience in developing hydrogen generation and purification technology. Previous positions include Co-Founder & CTO at IdaTech; VP of PEM & Reformer System development at Protonex; and VP of Reformer Development at ReliOn Inc. Dr. Edlund received his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from California State University, Sacramento, and his Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Oregon.


Co-Founder & President

Robert Schluter

Responsible for operations management, global sales, and service activities at e1. Mr. Schluter brings with him more than 20 years of business operations, as well as extensive sales & marketing experience. Previous experience includes Founder of Pangaea Technology Resources, a strategic recruitment firm; VP of Commercial Banking at Columbia River Bank and Premier West Bank; and US Naval Officer. Mr. Schluter holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Ithaca College, Ithaca NY.



Greg Haugen

Responsible for the finance and administration activities of the Company.  Mr. Haugen has over 25 years of business experience, ten of which were as the Vice President of Finance and Administration for Advanced Power Technology.   During Mr. Haugen’s tenure at Advanced Power Technology the Company completed several strategic acquisitions and a successful Initial Public Offering of its common stock.  Mr. Haugen received a Bachelor of Science degree from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon and has passed the C.P.A. exam.


Director of Engineering

Koji Hoshi

Responsible for the Company’s product development activities, and business relationships in Japan.  Mr. Hoshi has over 15 years of fuel reforming, hydrogen purification, and fuel cell system development experience.  Previous positions include Sr. Systems Integration Engineer at Ballard Fuel Cell Systems, Systems Integration Engineer at IdaTech, and Field Service Engineer at Miura Co., Ltd.  Mr. Hoshi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Energy Engineering from Hachinohe Institute of Technology.


VP, Asia


Responsible for all business relationships in Asia including strategic business development, technical development, service, and support.  Mr. Lim brings 17 years of hydrogen generator design and development, testing, market requirements assessments; fuel cell stack and system design and testing; fuel cell stack and fuel cell system designs; R&D management; business development; marketing and sales.  Previous positions include VP at Kaori Heat Treatment Co., Ltd, Deputy Director at Chung-Hsin Electrical & Machinery Mfg. Corp, and as an Engineer at Nu Element Inc.
