Element 1 Licenses Gas Reforming Technology to Domestic Company

Technology to reduce gas flaring and CO2 emissions in the oil field

March 29, 2016, Bend, OR — Element 1 Corp., a leading developer of small-scale to micro-scale clean energy technologies, including gas reforming solutions and gas-to-liquid processes, is pleased to announce it has executed a master licensing agreement with the parent company of ZHRO Power, LLC (“ZHRO”). The agreement follows the successful completion of a 14-month co-development program between Element 1 and ZHRO, resulting in a skid-mounted system for converting associated gas to fuelquality methane.

The system is currently being completed by ZHRO and marketed as the ZHRO 1500CMT, and expects to be capable of refining up to 50,000 cubic feet per day of associated gas. The resulting fuel-gas stream is sufficient to generate 200 kW electrical power. The 1500CMT displaces the need for up to 130,000 gallons per year of diesel fuel that would normally be burned to generate electric power, in the process avoiding 1,500 metric tons per year of carbon dioxide emissions. Carbon dioxide is a potent greenhouse gas. “We are very excited to see our technology utilized by ZHRO Power in a product that will significantly reduce the amount of gas that is wasted by flaring. The ZHRO 1500CMT represents a significant step forward in reducing greenhouse-gas emissions, sensible utilization of domestic energy resources, and preserving U.S. manufacturing jobs,” stated Dave Edlund, Chairman and CEO of Element 1 Corp.

“It has been a great working with Element 1 throughout the development process of the ZHRO 1500CMT and we look forward to providing our system as a solution to the flaring issue that is plaguing the industry today,” said Ken Losch, CEO of ZHRO Power, LLC.
